McNeil. The funny bit is, that I have recently started running a web site
for an auto club in Pembroke, MA. http://www.slac.org. I have been playing
guitar for almost 35 years and one time toured with many of the famous

It's amazing how many McNeil's are musicians. I
always ask my father where I got my talent from - He dosen'tt really know,
but thinks my drummer grandfather (Jesse McNeil)
might've had something to do with it. I am a singer
songwriter in southern Louisiana and have finally
gotten to the end of my college career in music media/piano studies. I can't wait to finish in December because I'll be able to

I just started my research on my McNeil surname and found
Chris' great web page. I want to determine if my McNeils are Scottish or
Irish, but I can't seem to find where my great granddad (Thomas F. McNeil,
b. 1896 d. 1980)was born or determine his parents names; I believe his
father was also Thomas F. McNeil. I was told he may have come from the
North Dakota or Montana area to the KS/MO area, where I was born.

It's funny. At 51, I'm just learning to play the guitar and
sing. While I'm happy....for now...just strumming and humming, I

The surname mcneil is of Dalriadan origin and are of Irish
descent specifically from King Colla Crioch who was banished from Ireland
in 327 AD., along with 350 other clan chiefs. The name emerged as a
Scottish Clan in Barra as early as 1049. The crest is A Rock and we do
have a coat-of-arms. The family motto is: "Vincere Vel Mori".
